Deep Powder & Steep Trees at White Grizzly

When it comes to cat skiing in BC, it’s the terrain that makes all the difference and at White Grizzly, the terrain is truly one of a kind. Tucked into the rugged Goat Range of British Columbia’s Selkirk Mountains, our private mountain zone is renowned for steep trees, deep snow, and epic lines that challenge even the most experienced riders.

While many cat skiing and heli operations focus on open alpine bowls and blue-run cruising, White Grizzly is about something different raw, playful terrain that pushes your skills and fuels your stoke. Sure, many of our runs begin above the treeline, perfect for a few sunny-day turns. But what we really specialize in is tree skiing navigating steep chutes, dropping into tight glades, and bouncing through Kootenay Coldsmoke pillows. It’s all about finding your flow, riding natural features, and having fun, all under the safety and guidance of our expert team.

Our cat skiing BC zone is north-east facing, meaning it’s sheltered from sun and wind. This keeps the snow quality high and the terrain rideable in almost any weather  something that sets us apart from the rest. Add in the fact that we’re situated in one of the most reliable snow belts in North America, and it’s no surprise riders come back season after season.

The Ride Up

At White Grizzly, even the ride up the mountain is part of the adventure. Our custom snowcat is heated and fitted with comfortable seats, Bluetooth speakers for music, and lots of room for your gear. It’s a time to rest between runs, refuel with snacks, and get pumped for the next drop. Best of all, there’s only ever one cat on the mountain  which means your group has exclusive access to the terrain. Of course, we always keep a backup snowcat ready, just in case.

Cat Skiing Packages

Our season runs from mid-December through early April the prime time for deep powder skiing. We offer both three and four-day cat skiing packages, each delivering between six and nine exhilarating runs per day. That’s roughly 5,000 vertical metres (or 16,500 feet) daily. Everything is included  guided skiing, your stay at our lodge, chef-prepared meals .

If you’re wondering what is cat skiing and if it’s right for you, here’s the deal: White Grizzly is built for advanced to expert skiers and snowboarders. You should be confident in deep snow, comfortable in steep, tight trees, and ready to take on terrain equivalent to double-black diamond runs in North America (or black in Europe). This is not your average ski holiday  it’s a full-throttle backcountry experience.
